Matters Arising: Shouldn’t charity begin at home? — Uwakwe Martins Mundus asks Social Media Philanthropists.
Your pictures are all over Facebook! You are sharing food items to the poor! Mr Palliative! Well done! You are doing well!
But your gatemen is dying of hunger. The poor boy that comes to pick your waste everyday hasn’t eaten good food for days! Your nephew didn’t get admission last year because he couldn’t afford JAMB registration fee. Your house girl can not afford to change her undies.
I have seen a lot of big men who don’t take care of their casual workers yet there ‘bio’ says “philanthropist”.
May I never be that ‘big man’ that will ignore ‘home’ charity to do ‘away’ charity.
