Nigerian Police Arrests WhatsApp Group Admins of #EndSARS Protest

According to emerging reports, the Nigeria Police command in Osun state have arrested and detained two people said to be administrators of a WhatsApp group used for the mobilization of #EndSARS protest in Osun state.

Babawale Popoola and Fisayo Aderemi who were arrested and detained since on Thursday November 5, were accused of knowing about the looting that occurred a few weeks ago as administrators of the #EndSARS WhatsApp groups and were further asked to provide their members, Premium Times reports.

The publication reported that Osun police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola did not deny the arrest of WhatsApp group admins, but instead allege that they played roles in the arson that followed the protests in the state.

Asked why they were yet to be arraigned, Opalola simply said “they are still being investigated. After the investigation, we will know what to do.”

Also, in another viral gist, yesterday, a team of Nigerian Police Force reportedly invaded the home of an #EndSARS organizer, Eromosele Adene in Ikeja area of Lagos State Nigeria and abducted him.

As reported by one Mr. Mikel Akpan, it was later discovered that he was ferried to the CP’s office, Hakeem Odumosu where he remains incommunicado, denied access to lawyers and concerned family members.
