I welcomed my son to a Covid world. Should I be happy or sad?…

My thoughts to him: Son, never ever think you are not enough. You’re a solution to someone’s problem. Some closed doors are necessary for gates to open.

Understand there is more to education than top grades. There is no luck. Your preparedness to take advantage of an opportunity is what many will refer to as luck. So be always prepared.

Health is wealth. It took a pandemic for the entire world to realise there are more important things than fighting wars. Take care of your health.

Someone suggested we call you ‘Covid’ because of the time in which you were born. Always show up, turn up, and give it your best shot. Don’t compare your level 30 to someone else’s level 90. You miss 100% of the shot you don’t take.

So don’t be scared to try. Embrace failure. They’re your stepping stone to success. Protect your mind. You become what you think about.

You’ll make mistakes, don’t be too proud to say sorry. Respect women. I witnessed your birth and I was traumatised! Women are strong!
