#EndSARS: President Buhari to address Nigerians at 7pm

The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari will address the current security situation in the country tonight by 7pm.

Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, disclosed this in a statement titled, ‘President Buhari addresses the nation.’

The statement by Femi Adesina reads;

“Following detailed briefing by security chiefs on the current situation in the country, President Muhammadu Buhari will make a national broadcast Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 7pm.

“Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria respectively for the broadcast.”

Meanwhile, in another trending story, the Director of defence information, Major Gen. John Enenche has stated that videos circulating online, showing military men opening fire at peaceful unarmed #EndSARS protesters in Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos State, Nigeria were ”photoshopped”.

On Tuesday, October 20, officers of the Nigerian army had been seen in viral videos shooting at #EndSARS protesters at Lekki toll gate, Lagos state.

Speaking on the incident, Maj. Gen. Enenche dismissed the videos, claiming they are fake, and photoshopped videos.

“I even got analysts. People that have analysed the various videos that were cropped and photoshopped put together. If not that I’m not permitted, I could have forwarded it to your Instagram”, he said.
