Egypt Emerges First MENA Nation to Place Camera on the International Space Station

Egypt is the first African Country and in the Middle East to put 100% Egyptian-made International Space Station Camera.


Egypt will be the 17th country in the world that participates with a piece in the International Space Station.

This satellite camera as gathered by Mentorslinks, was designed and manufactured with 100% Egyptian hands, and about 13 Egyptian researchers, including engineers and technicians, participated in its design and manufacture.

This camera will be placed on the International Space Station and will allow Egypt to obtain “free of charge” high-resolution satellite images that are used for geological purposes, remote sensing, exploration and other applications that serve development efforts in Egypt.
