“With only five seconds a day on your smartphone and no investment needed, you have a chance to receive a huge amount of money,” reads a post in the Pi Network Facebook group which has nearly 150,000 members, most of them Vietnamese.

The Pi Network, which describes itself on its website as “the first and only digital currency you can mine on your phone,” has become a popular topic of discussion on social media since the end of last year. Many users have invited others to download the app and mine the coin with just few taps.

As of March 2, Pi Network, said to be developed by two Stanford University Phds, was the 22nd most downloaded app on iOS in Vietnam. The Pi Network’s Facebook fanpage on February 19 claimed it had reached more than 13 million users worldwide. “We no longer have a chance to own Bitcoin, so let’s switch to mining Pi. You lose nothing. After a few years, if the project succeeds, each Pi could be worth dozens of U.S. dollars,” said Duc Danh, a Facebook user in Ho Chi Minh City.

There is currently no official trading market for Pi in Vietnam and no official exchange currency rate with the Vietnamese dong. The Finance Ministry recently issued a warning on the rising interest in cryptocurrency, saying: “Vietnam does not have legal grounds for the issue and trade of cryptocurrencies and other digital assets.”

Steps On How To Transfer Your Pi Network App To New Phone: The Mainnet Pi wallet is already available and the Pi migration to the available wallet is ongoing, of which protecting your Pi Network account is essential. Pioneers who have difficulty with their phone, abd needed to transfer their Pi to new phone, kindly follow the procedures outlined below:

1. If you previously registered your Pi account with Facebook: Complete the installation of Pi and Pi Browser, Facebook apps on the new Device first. Then, login to Facebook first: Continue to open the Pi App using the FB your account is linked (Active). Next verify the phone number and make sure you know the Password of your Pi app if you want to use this Number.

  1. If you previously registered your Pi account with a Phone Number: Complete the installation of Pi and Pi Browser, Facebook apps on the new Device first. Then, login with the registered phone number – Enter the password of the application (In case of forgetting to use the correct registered and verified phone number to be re-issued the password).

After successfully transferring the Pi App to work on your new device, proceed to delete the app on the old device. Do not logout on the old device before the end of the 24hour mining session so as not to lose the mine that day. Phone number verification is important, as it makes it easier to sign in on a new phone, incase your previous phone had issues. Endeavor to verify your phone number on the Pi Network app.
